Saturday July 16, 2016 Ile Orleans to Ile aux Coudres

In the morning, we had pancakes with the fresh strawberries topped with Kruger maple syrup.

It is expected to leave for Cap à l'Aigle around 14:00. Before leaving we walked around the village quaint houses and art shops, but the roads we going through major sewer rejuvenation.

Daniele loved a shop with the works of Steven Lamb, a painter native of Bulgaria but living in Montreal.  http://www.stevenlambart.com/ The work reminded me of paintings by Don Venezia, an uncle of Lisa Venezia.

With a small sandwich in us, we're off.  We tracked the 25-foot contour, reach the end of Île d'Orléans at 4:52 p.m. without crossing a single cargo ship.

It was getting late and I realized we would not get to Cap à l'Aigle at any reasonable time.

It is almost 20h30 and the sea was calm and almost no wind.  We anchor at Île aux Coudres, west of the ferry dock. It's low tide; we probed the depths of the bay and dropped anchor in 20 feet of water facing the current.  Navionics Sonar Charts was very helpful.

As the tide falls, the current reverses and the boat turns 180 degrees.  Just as expected.

So we set an alarm on the depth gauge that will wake us. It goes at 3:30 and re-anchor and then went back to bed.
